I would not buy this model again. The in-door water and ice dispenser leaves little freezer room. The device makes a constant high-pitched hum. One bottom compartment doesn™€™t close smoothly. It does keep things nice and cold, but every refrigerator should do that.

It needs two additions. One is a door on the ice maker or a way to reach in and get ice. Number 2 is in the fresh food section. It needs a cold cut tray. Other than those 2 changes we are pleased with it. It replaced a thirty year old 22 cubic foot side by side GE.

Just problems so far

WTF is the problem 3/23/2025

The refrigerator was defective when it was installed. The water filter froze apparently so the water line plugged. That is being replaced under the warranty tomorrow. In addition the refrigerator temperature reading is constantly at a level less than the setting. I set the temperature at 38 degrees as recommended but the actual temperature is somewhere between 25 and 28 degrees. I don't know whether that has to do with the water filter freezing or whether the water filter freezing was due to the temperature. In any case the repair person is scheduled for tomorrow to bring the replacement parts.

Love how spacious refrigerator side and bright lighting. Really wanted the French door fridge with in-door cube & crushed ice & water and bottom drawer freezer in white but in the size I needed, white was not available. So I had to settle for the side-by-side to get white with the in-door selections. White seems to be less popular and not available like it used to be. My kitchen is white shabby chic and the stove I bought a couple years ago (GE brand also) was white. I don™€™t care for the dark appliances.

My refrigerator wouldn't keep cold, so I went to Jetson's. I looked online first and found the one I wanted. This one is white and fits the bill. My old one was stainless and very difficult to keep clean. At the store, the floor model had been sold, so it took about 10 days to get one in stock. I was called right away, and the new refrigerator was delivered, set up, and the old one removed. I chose Jetson's mainly because appliances are their main business, and they use employees for delivery instead of contractors. My new refrigerator is as great as the reviews said it would be. The service at Jetson's is wonderful. I would purchase another appliance there without hesitation.

What I really wanted was a refrigerator/freezer with top French doors, water & ice (both cube ann crushed) in the door, and pull out bottom freezer in white. However, wanting white seriously limited my options in the size that I needed. I had to settle for a side-by-side (GSS23GGOFCWW) to get the crushed ice in the door. Not everyone wants stainless, black or charcoal appliances. White should be an option in the styles! I am a GE buyer so I didn™€™t consider any other manufacturers. White is my decor (shabby chic). We just replaced our stove recently in white. We didn™€™t want to have mismatched appliances. We also just purchased a new washer and dryer (GE in white). Please don™€™t stop offering that color.

$50 for a water filter?? And forget about using aftermarket filters because of the embedded rfid tags in the GE filters. The tags have to be present in order for the refrigerator to dispense any water making any aftermarket filters incompatible since they do not have the required tags. So that's 50 bucks you have to spend every 6 months. Search the internet, there are some workarounds but why should anyone have to bother. There is also a water filter bypass that can be requested from GE if you'd rather. Had I known about the price of the filters, I would have never bought a GE refrigerator.

The lack of built-in feet to prevent the unit from rolling inadvertently was a disappointment. I added modified furniture castor chocks to rectify this.

We had a Kenmore and a whirlpool Kenmore was good The whirlpools sucked first fridge ever. This GE fridge beats them both plenty of shelf space all shelves are adjustable the LED lighting down the door and above helps to see everything in your refrigerator. Down in temperature is kept perfect also there's plenty of space on the door The shelves are quite big. The water and ice setup is perfect don't have any water dripping down the front of the refrigerator. So glad about it's GE refrigerator

We love it the adjustable shelves the lighting so much room. It is definitely way better than the Whirlpool we had to return because it kept having problems after only 5 months. I have definitely told our friends about this new GE refrigerator. We are all very impressed. We also love that the doors stay a jar so you don't have to open it again to put something you're using for a second back in the refrigerator. Most definitely a much better refrigerator than anything I've seen out there online.

Our last refrigerator had 3 drawers -- this one only has 2. We definitely miss the third drawer. We are not fond of the way the shelves attach to the inside of the refrigerator door. It would be useful if the crushed ice was actually crushed. Seems like our old refrigerator's crushed ice was actually crushed....

I'm really enjoying this fridge. The price point was good, and has the features I was looking for. Although lost some freezer space with 33" , it is still functional and enough space for me. Some people reviewed about ice machine being loud, but to me it's a normal sound that you'd expect when a machine makes and crushes and drops the ice. Went with GE because I wanted an old school brand

I was expecting it to have more room than it has. I™€™ve recently ordered a chest freezer for the garage, as the freezer in the frig just doesn™€™t hold as much meat as I like to keep on hand.

Installed yesterday - so far no problems LOL Like the way it looks - Has more space than our older refrigerator as it is taller. Only objection is some of the shelves in the refrigerator door are pretty skimpy ( narrow ) same for the freezer section - the old one GE lasted 17 years with a few repairs - the shelves were wider

Needs a 4th Freezer Shelf

I like the new fridge. But, it should have come with 4 freezer shelfs rather than just 3. It was annoying to have to order the parts for the 4th shelf and pay an additional $76.
