I bought the bosch 500 series wall hood and assumed that it would be really quiet. BUT NO! The hood is NOT quiet and on the most powerful setting, I have to yell to be heard. I love Bosch appliances - just not this one.

Stainless discoloration after 3 months

The hood is loud, but it works very well. The stainless steel is of poor quality with lots of discoloration, something that I didn't expect from a $2000 hood in less than two months. See the picture. There is no easy way to contact Bosch without a heavy service fee. Bosch, please contact me if you are reading this.

This hood exceeds all expectations! It looks professional in the kitchen. The light settings add the perfect spotlight when creating a meal! The fan levels are perfect to move out the smoke and steam generated while cooking. I would recommend this product for anyone!

Problem with damper

I like the hood just fine except the damper keeps allowing cold air to flow into the kitchen. The contractor says there are 2 dampers and he installed correctly. I have found that if I run the blower on the maximum level and turn the blower off the damper closes better but the problem keeps coming back.

Powerful fan

Love my new wall hood. It looks great and the fan is powerful. However, while I can control it from my induction cooktop, and the light automatically turns on when I turn on the cooktop. The lights don't automatically turns off when I turn off the cooktop and the fan also doesn't automatically turn on/off.

I HAVE THE bOSCH 500 HOOD. It works well and i particularly like the fact that it connects with my bosch inductioin cooktop. as soon as i hit the on button on the cooktop, the hood light comes on and when i start cooking the hood fan automaticly starts.
