I purchased this BOSCH 800 Series Speed Oven HMC87152UC about five years ago, and since then, it has had repeated issues almost every year. The door lock/sensor has been replaced four times, and other parts have been replaced three additional times. I have spent nearly as much on repairs as the microwave itself cost. In hindsight, I should have purchased a different brand.
Most recently, the oven stopped heating again. This time, the issue was with the core heating components, and the technician said the unit is not repairable.
I contacted Bosch customer service, hoping they could provide support or offer possible options. They told me they needed either a receipt or proof of homeownership. Since I no longer had the receipt, I provided my deed document. Bosch did not accept it and instead said they needed the property purchase document. Without that, they said they could not provide support.
After years of repeated repairs, significant repair costs, and an unhelpful customer service experience, I am extremely disappointed. I will not buy another Bosch appliance.

This is a very expensive appliance that is sturdy but fails a lot. We had two major issues. First time, there was some issue with the door opening/closing that tripped a fuse and prevented to oven from starting. Second time, the oven just went dead. Do not recommend it.

I regret purchasing the Bosch HMC87152UC. Despite the premium price, this appliance has been nothing but a headache. Parts break constantly, and reliability is a major issue. It feels like I'm always waiting for a repair, and replacements are costly and hard to find. For a brand known for quality, this model falls seriously short. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere!
To make matters worse, the company claims its a great product and charges an arm and a leg for terrible support.

Lasted just over 1.5 years. Staring at a $1300 repair. Buying a new microwave on the advice of the repair guy who said the speed ovens suck. Well that matches my experience.

Installed this microwave/convection oven into my newly remodeled kitchen in July 2021 as part of a full Bosch set of 800-series appliances and my dream 36" induction cooktop. The other pieces are great, but this microwave/speedoven has been a huge disappointment. Eighteen months after installation (six months after the warrantee ended), it stopped working. Appliance repair said it was the door locks/hinges, which cost north of $500 to fix. A year after that, I had the same problem, and another repair bill. Two weeks later, the same problem. All pointed to the same issue -- faulty door locks/hinges, which are apparently plastic and too fragile for the type of pull-down door closure on this model. I'm now told to treat it like a fragile appliance and "gently push the door closed each time" to keep them from breaking again. Now, I am not a 'door slammer', so receiving this advice to hopefully keep this appliance from breaking yet again seems ridiculous. The problem is with the door lock mechanism, not the way I close the microwave. I'm hopeful that others with this type of model weigh in as well and that Bosch recognizes and makes right this glaring problem with one of their elite lines.
